San Diego, CA – Eyes On Eyecare announced the launch of Cited, a mobile app aimed at transforming how retina specialists and other eyecare professionals engage with current research. The application is now available on the iOS App Store.

Cited functions as a mobile feed of peer-reviewed articles, incorporating AI-generated summaries and short video reactions from practicing physicians. The app provides a plain-language summary of each study, a direct link to the original publication, and 60-second video commentary from leading retina specialists. This format allows users to quickly grasp key findings and expert opinions.

The development of Cited addresses the challenge of keeping up with the accelerating volume of published ophthalmic research. "We built Cited so retina specialists can get all the signal without the noise," said Matt Geller, CEO of Eyes On Eyecare. He added that the app pairs trusted summaries with candid peer commentary, turning literature review into an active conversation.

The app is curated specifically for retina specialists, focusing on conditions like AMD and diabetic retinopathy, as well as surgical and pharmacological advancements. The platform also allows physicians to contribute their own 60-second video reactions, fostering a community-driven knowledge base.

Cited is free for ophthalmologists and is available for iOS. It joins Eyes On Eyecare's portfolio of clinical education resources, including publications and virtual symposia. An Android version is planned for a later release.
