Fab Heavy Parts releases John Deere 35G excavator hydraulic system repair guide
Fab Heavy Parts has released the third part of its John Deere 35G excavator repair guide, focusing on common hydraulic system issues and their solutions.

Fab Heavy Parts has released the third installment of its repair guide for the John Deere 35G excavator, focusing on hydraulic system problems. The guide aims to assist owners in diagnosing and resolving common malfunctions, including lack of hydraulic functions, slow or powerless operation, and hydraulic oil overheating.
According to the guide, a common cause for absent hydraulic functions is the pilot shutoff lever being in the incorrect position or a blown 5A fuse (F17). Blockages in the hydraulic tank's suction screen can also impede operation. The instructions emphasize checking the oil level on a level surface with the cylinders in a specific configuration for accurate readings.
For slow or low-power hydraulic functions, the guide recommends checking the oil level and suction filter. It specifically addresses cold weather by outlining a hydraulic warm-up procedure involving moderate engine speed and cautious operation of functions. The guide also cautions against holding functions fully actuated for more than 30 seconds, which can lead to damage in the control valve.
Overheating of the hydraulic oil can be caused by clogged filters, low oil levels, incorrect oil viscosity, or a dirty radiator. The repair guide reminds users that selecting the proper oil viscosity is crucial for both performance and equipment longevity; excessively thick oil can slow operations, while overly thin oil may increase wear.
Fab Heavy Parts offers replacement parts and maintenance supplies relevant to hydraulic systems, including filters and oils, stressing the importance of proper upkeep for equipment longevity and performance.
