FACC begins production of winglets for Airbus A350 XWB
Aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG has started production of the first winglets for the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft. The company is also supplying flaps for the A321.
Austrian aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG has commenced production of the first winglets for the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft. This milestone reinforces FACC's position in the aerostructures segment for civil aircraft.
FACC is responsible for the development and manufacturing of the A350 XWB winglets. These components, attached to the wingtips, are designed to reduce aerodynamic drag, leading to decreased fuel consumption and increased range. FACC's involvement extends to other parts of the A350 XWB, including engine components and interior cabin elements.
In addition to the A350 XWB program, FACC has secured a new significant order for the production of outer flaps for the Airbus A321. This expands FACC's collaboration with Airbus into the A320 family of aircraft. For these flap components, FACC is implementing an automated tape laying process to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
