Austrian aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG announced in November 2017 that its high-tech components are part of the Airbus A350-1000, which simultaneously received type certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The type certification is a prerequisite for the aircraft to enter commercial service. FACC supplies components to the A350-1000 from all three of its divisions. The Engines & Nacelles division provides weight-optimized translating sleeves and engine components, the Interiors division supplies door linings, smoke detector panels, and bins, and the Aerostructures division delivers spoilers and winglets.

FACC has been a technology partner to Airbus for many years and was also involved in the earlier A350-900 model. The aerospace technology company utilized experience gained from the previous model in the development of the A350-1000. FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger thanked Airbus for their trust and cooperation, and emphasized the role of FACC's employees in the development and production of the components.

The A350-1000 is the longest version of the Airbus A350 XWB family of wide-body aircraft. The aircraft differs from the A350-900 by having a longer fuselage to accommodate 40 more passengers, a modified trailing edge of the wing, new six-wheel main landing gears, and more powerful Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines. To date, 11 customers from five continents had ordered a total of 169 A350-1000 aircraft.
