Austrian aerospace technology company FACC AG announced it will create over 200 new jobs and invest EUR 150 million over the next five years, capitalizing on the growth in the global aircraft market. The company anticipates significant sales growth in 2022 and is pursuing a consistent expansion strategy for the coming years.

The new positions will primarily focus on production at its Upper Austrian locations, with recruitment underway for roles in IT, digitalization, innovation management, and automation. The EUR 150 million investment will cover new projects, research and development, and the expansion of production facilities. FACC recently secured new contracts worth over EUR 1 billion, including work on the European Ariane 6 space program, components for the Airbus A220, and the production of cabin interiors for the Bombardier Challenger 3500 business jet.

In research and development, FACC aims to enhance sustainable solutions and competitiveness. This includes developing new lightweight composite materials expected to reduce fuel consumption and flight emissions. The company is also researching component recyclability and exploring the replacement of chemical products with substances derived from sources like the sugar cane industry. Advancements in automation technology are intended to boost production efficiency, shorten lead times, and reduce costs and energy use.

As part of its expansion, FACC will upgrade production facilities with next-generation technology and construct new, highly automated plants. The company aims to establish itself among the top 50 aerospace groups worldwide by 2030.
