FACC Expands Production Network with Facility Upgrade in Croatia
Aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG has tripled its production space at its Jakovlje facility in Croatia. The EUR 36 million investment is part of the company's strategy to bolster its international manufacturing network to meet growing demand in the aviation industry.
Aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG has inaugurated its expanded production facility in Jakovlje, Croatia. The investment totals EUR 36 million, resulting in a threefold increase in production area at the site. This expansion is intended to support anticipated growth in the aerospace sector and enhance FACC's global manufacturing capabilities.
The company anticipates a significant rise in production rates within the aerospace industry, citing nearly 19,000 aircraft currently on order worldwide. In response, FACC is increasing output at several of its international locations. The Jakovlje facility has now become FACC's largest production site outside of Austria, employing over 500 individuals.
During the opening ceremony, FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger stated that the company has fulfilled its commitment to expand the Croatian facility and its workforce. Attendees included Croatian Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar and Austrian Ambassador Yvonne Tončić-Sorinj.
The upgrade incorporates new technologies, including a fully automated painting system, and the introduction of press manufacturing for composite components. Teams in Croatia and Austria are collaborating closely to ensure knowledge transfer, positioning the Jakovlje site as a center of excellence for high-end cabin interior production.
FACC plans to invest approximately EUR 350 million in new technologies and the expansion of its global facilities by 2030. These investments are aimed at increasing production volumes for existing programs, enabling new customer projects, and improving overall company efficiency.
