FACC to Build New High-Tech Plant in Austria

Aerospace component manufacturer FACC AG is constructing a new high-tech plant in St. Martin, Upper Austria. The €120 million investment is set to double the company's production capacity for structural components for passenger aircraft, such as horizontal and vertical stabilizers.

Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2026, with the facility expected to be fully operational by the end of 2029. The new 20,000 square meter plant will be directly connected to the existing facility 3. This expansion is anticipated to generate up to 300 new jobs in the region by 2030.

The plant will also feature a dedicated research area focused on developing manufacturing processes and technologies for the next generation of commercial aircraft. FACC plans to invest approximately €350 million in new technologies and global facility expansions by 2030 to meet growing demand.

FACC CEO Robert Machtlinger stated that the new plant signifies a long-term commitment to the Upper Austria region. He highlighted the importance of highly automated production, including the use of artificial intelligence, for enhancing efficiency in a high-wage country. The company expects this expansion to strengthen its position as a global aerospace supplier.
