Fairphone announces modular Fairbuds 2 TWS headphones
Fairphone, known for its modular and repairable electronics, is set to launch its new Fairbuds 2 TWS headphones. The product continues the company's strategy of promoting sustainability in consumer electronics.
Fairphone, a company focused on modular and repairable consumer electronics, has announced the upcoming release of its new Fairbuds 2 wireless earbuds. These headphones will carry forward the company's commitment to offering repairable products, a rarity in the audio device market.
The Fairbuds 2 are designed with seven fully replaceable modular components. This construction allows for easy replacement of damaged parts, extending the lifespan of the earbuds and aiming to reduce electronic waste and promote sustainable consumption.
In terms of audio capabilities, the Fairbuds 2 will support the SBC and ACC audio codecs, and will also feature LDAC support. This inclusion aims to provide a superior listening experience, particularly for high-resolution audio.
The Fairbuds 2 are scheduled for an official launch on October 14. They will initially be available in Europe for 119 euros, with a planned release in the United States later at a price of 119 dollars. This move expands Fairphone's modular design philosophy into the competitive true wireless earbud market.
