Fallsview Arts Marks First Anniversary of Brewster Studio

Fallsview Arts, an art education center founded by Sarah Miller Totten, celebrates one year of operations in the former Juengst factory complex in Brewster, New York, with a public open house and exhibition on Saturday, November 21, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event features a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. and showcases works from the studio's teaching artists and local contributors.

Established in November 2025, the studio provides instruction in painting, sculpture, drawing, and digital media to a diverse age range, from youth to adults. The curriculum includes individual mentorship, portfolio development, and technical workshops. Totten, a veteran educator with 15 years of experience in the Westchester and Putnam regions, stated that the studio was intended to provide a dedicated space for artistic development within the community.

The studio occupies a renovated space that retains original architectural features from the building’s history as a mill. Its proximity to the Croton Falls Metro-North station facilitates access for students traveling from across Westchester, Putnam, and the broader Hudson Valley region.

The public event serves as a retrospective of the studio’s inaugural year, reflecting on the community of students and artists who have utilized the space for instruction and exhibition.
