Fast Company Discusses Future of Creativity and Innovation
Fast Company hosted a panel discussion exploring the role of creatives in innovation and the challenges of their funding.

Fast Company recently held a discussion event that delved into the role of creative professionals in future innovation. The session considered how artists, designers, and other creative thinkers influence culture and how the funding for their work could be secured.
The panel featured Holly Fraser, Editor-in-Chief of WePresent at WeTransfer; Jason Schupbach, President of the Fashion Institute of Technology; and Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter. The discussion was moderated by Kc Ifeanyi, Executive Director of Editorial Programming at Fast Company.
The conversation highlighted that unprecedented investment in artificial intelligence and advanced technology may overshadow creative sectors. As traditional funding models face pressure, supporting creative talent is increasingly viewed not just as a cultural imperative, but also as a strategic approach to fostering innovation.
Participants explored how institutions and businesses could create new pathways for independent creators and build more sustainable ecosystems for cultural innovation. Creative talent was identified as one of the most valuable, yet underinvested, assets.
