Fast Company has launched a new recognition program, Pacesetters, presented by Tata Consultancy Services. The initiative aims to track and celebrate innovation at the intersection of technology and the customer journey, particularly within the context of artificial intelligence.
The program acknowledges the significant shift in how AI is being used to optimize customer interactions. Moving beyond basic chatbots, AI agents now anticipate needs, resolve issues, and make decisions rapidly, fundamentally impacting businesses with customer bases.
Notable honorees include Ruba Borno of AWS, who redesigned the AWS Marketplace with AI agents to assist cloud customers in selecting from numerous software solutions. At Yum Brands, Cameron Davies's team developed the Byte by Yum tool to support KFC and Pizza Hut with mobile ordering, delivery optimization, and menu management. Neil Letchford's team at Virgin Atlantic deployed a conversational AI "concierge" to streamline complex travel bookings.
