Manufacturer FAUN has introduced its new Safety User Display (SUD), a safety feature designed to improve the operational security of refuse collection vehicles and street sweepers.
The FAUN-FLEET-CREW-INFO initiative highlights that the system aims to minimize surprises from other road users and actively prevent accidents. Increasing traffic volumes, alongside the rise of e-bikes and e-scooters, are making the roles of refuse vehicle loaders and street sweeper operators more challenging, complicating environmental awareness and increasing risks.
The SUD display is installed in vehicles and is intended to help personnel actively monitor their surroundings, reducing the likelihood of unexpected encounters with other road users. The objective is to enhance worker safety in busy traffic conditions.
