FAUN introduces waste truck body utilizing recycled materials

FAUN Group has introduced the reNew VARIOPRESS, a new waste truck body designed with a significant use of recycled materials. The model was developed in collaboration with TSR, a subsidiary of REMONDIS, alongside Daimler Truck and over 30 additional partners, aiming to reduce the environmental footprint of vehicle production.

The body construction can utilize up to 88% recycled steel, sourced from reduced CO₂ emissions electric arc furnace production. Additionally, plastic components like fenders can be made from up to 92% recycled thermoplastic. The control element carriers are composed of nearly 99% recycled thermoplastic. The company reports that the actual recycled content in the pilot model stands at 39 percent.

FAUN states that the reNew VARIOPRESS demonstrates the company's commitment to resource conservation in vehicle manufacturing. The manufacturer emphasizes that material circulation and CO₂ emission reduction are key objectives of the project. Over 30 companies from various industrial sectors, including steel processing and recycling, are involved in the initiative.

The manufacturer notes that the reNew VARIOPRESS has received external validation for its sustainability. TÜV Süd has audited and assessed the model, confirming its foundation on verifiable data and transparent methodologies compliant with recognized standards such as ISO 14021 and DIN standards. FAUN's goal is to implement circular economy practices within the vehicle industry.
