FAUN's reNew VARIOPRESS Truck Utilizes High Recycled Content
FAUN unveils the reNew VARIOPRESS refuse collection vehicle, incorporating up to 88% recycled steel and 92% recycled plastic in its construction. The project aims to advance the circular economy within the vehicle manufacturing sector.

FAUN has launched the reNew VARIOPRESS, a refuse collection vehicle designed to integrate circular economy principles into its manufacturing. The vehicle body incorporates significant recycled content, with up to 88% recycled steel in components like the container, rear section, and ejection shield, and 92% recycled thermoplastic used for the mudguard.
The initiative, a collaboration involving TSR (a subsidiary of REMONDIS) and Daimler Truck, alongside over 30 partners from the recycling and supplier industries, aims to reduce resource consumption and CO₂ emissions. The core concept is to utilize materials collected today in the construction of future vehicles.
Specific components demonstrate high recycled material usage: the control panel is made from 99% recycled thermoplastic. In the current proof-of-concept vehicle, the overall recycled material content is reported at 39%. FAUN states, "The reNew VARIOPRESS doesn't just facilitate a circular economy – it is part of it."
The sustainability claims have been independently assessed by TÜV Süd, adhering to standards such as ISO 14021. FAUN, known for manufacturing refuse collection vehicles and street sweepers, positions this project as a demonstration of its commitment to resource conservation in vehicle production.
