FAW Hongqi HS5 Refreshed with New Tech and Design, Launched in China

FAW Hongqi, a Chinese state-owned automotive manufacturer, has officially released a refreshed version of its HS5 SUV in the Chinese market. The updated model incorporates the new 'Lingxi Smart Cabin 5.0' infotainment system and 'Hongqi Sinan' intelligent driving assistance features.

The vehicle sees updates to both its exterior and interior design, including a new lighting signature and revised cabin styling. The pricing for the updated HS5 begins at 134,800 yuan (approximately $18,600 USD) for rear-wheel-drive variants, ascending to 200,800 yuan (approximately $27,700 USD) for the top-tier all-wheel-drive models.

Inside, the 'Lingxi Smart Cabin 5.0' system is powered by a Qualcomm 8155P chip, offering advanced voice command capabilities and integrated features such as 50W wireless charging and comprehensive smartphone connectivity.

The 'Hongqi Sinan' driving assistance suite includes a 360-degree surround-view camera, various parking assist functions, and an adaptive cruise control system capable of managing traffic and navigating obstacles.

The updated HS5 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 224 horsepower, allowing for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds. The vehicle measures 4785x1905x1700 mm with a wheelbase of 2870 mm. The FAW Hongqi HS5 is positioned for the domestic Chinese automotive market.
