Fazer Group updates privacy statement with recent changes
Fazer Group has made several updates to its privacy statement, detailing changes in data processing, transfers, and service provider information since 2020.

Fazer Group has consistently updated its privacy statement to reflect changes in data handling and service offerings. Recent revisions, notably in July 2024, introduced details about a new payment service provider and referenced the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, while also removing references to discontinued online stores and correcting order data storage periods.
Earlier updates in March 2024 highlighted Fazer's adoption of AI-based tools to enhance knowledge work. The company also specified data retention for its MyFazer members, stating that basic data is kept for the duration of membership, while purchase data and data from media monitoring are retained for six years and three months. These adjustments aim to provide clarity on how customer information is managed across various services.
The company's privacy policy has also evolved to include information sharing practices. Fazer has stated it may disclose personal data related to product feedback and inquiries to its licensees and distributors for smoother handling. Furthermore, the collection of location data with user consent for targeted advertising has been outlined in previous updates.
Fazer has also been transparent about structural and acquisition-related changes impacting data controllers. For instance, following the acquisition of Trensums Food AB, the company was added to the list of data controllers. Conversely, certain entities divested in prior years were removed. The company has also updated its policies regarding international data transfers, particularly in light of the Schrems II ruling and the discontinuation of the EU-US Privacy Shield.
