FCC filings indicate upcoming Nikon Z70 camera
Regulatory filings have revealed details about the Nikon Z70, an upcoming APS-C mirrorless camera featuring 41-megapixel imaging and 8K video capabilities.
Details regarding the Nikon Z70 have surfaced through regulatory documents filed with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The filings, originally tied to a wireless remote control (N2416), include diagrams of a camera body that features a distinct button layout on the top panel, differentiating it from existing models like the Z6III.
Technical reports suggest the Z70 will serve as a high-end APS-C camera, equipped with a 41-megapixel sensor and the EXPEED 7 image processor. The camera is expected to support 8K video recording at 60 frames per second. Furthermore, industry reports indicate the inclusion of a dedicated record button and potential integration of Apple ProRes RAW functionality.
While hardware specifications also point to a 120fps viewfinder refresh rate, Nikon has yet to provide an official announcement regarding the camera's release date or market positioning.
