FedMSB Forms National Digital Dollar Committee to Advance AmeriUSD
The Federal Money Services Business Association (FedMSB) has established the National Digital Dollar Committee (NDDC) to coordinate the development of AmeriUSD, a next-generation digital dollar system for U.S. payments.

The Federal Money Services Business Association (FedMSB) has announced the formation of the National Digital Dollar Committee (NDDC). This industry committee will coordinate the development of AmeriUSD – The Digital Dollar System, an initiative aimed at creating a next-generation digital dollar infrastructure for U.S. payments, remittances, and settlement.
The NDDC will bring together U.S. money services businesses (MSBs), financial institutions, payment companies, fintech firms, and other stakeholders to modernize dollar-based payment infrastructure. The formation of the committee follows FedMSB's recent introduction of AmeriUSD and aims to establish an organizational, technical, and industry framework for its long-term development.
The committee's work will focus on applying AmeriUSD across payments, remittances, foreign exchange, and cross-border settlement, with an emphasis on interoperability between existing financial networks and new digital payment infrastructure. The NDDC will coordinate with FedMSB's existing Stablecoin Standards Authority (SSA).
Key areas of focus for the NDDC are expected to include anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) compliance, sanctions adherence, consumer protection, risk management, digital asset custody, and cybersecurity. This initiative is part of FedMSB's broader MSB 2.0 strategy to modernize the infrastructure connecting the U.S. non-bank financial services sector.
The NDDC plans to announce its initial committee members and participation framework in the coming weeks. It will support industry engagement on digital dollar infrastructure, payment stablecoins, and the modernization of the U.S. payment and settlement ecosystem.
