Fermaca launches Mexico-based AI infrastructure platform

Fermaca has become the first NVIDIA Cloud Partner in Mexico, initiating an AI factory project to provide regional computing capacity.

4 November 2026

Mexico-based infrastructure firm Fermaca has officially launched an AI factory platform, marking its entry as the first NVIDIA Cloud Partner in the region. The project, starting with the Fermaca Digital Origins facility in Mexico City, seeks to provide local enterprises, universities, and institutions with the computing resources necessary for large-scale AI development and deployment.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between energy infrastructure and digital computing. Fermaca plans to leverage its existing background in gas and fiber connectivity to build a vertically integrated pipeline for AI production. By establishing this capacity within Mexico, the company intends to support national digital sovereignty, allowing local organizations to process data locally rather than relying on external providers.

The initial rollout utilizes NVIDIA B300 NVL72 systems, with plans to incorporate Vera Rubin architecture in future stages. Hardware support is provided by Inventec for computing systems and DDN for data storage. Fermaca has set an intermediate goal of achieving 60 MW of operational facility power by the end of 2027, with long-term plans to scale capacity up to 1 GW at its proposed site in Durango.

Fermaca CEO Manuel Calvillo stated that the project is intended to position Mexico as a regional hub for artificial intelligence. The effort has received backing from various levels of the Mexican government as part of the broader national development strategy, with a focus on creating lasting local economic opportunities.
