Ferry "Missunde III" Resumes Service After Safety Concerns

The "Missunde III" ferry, operating between Brodersby and Kosel, recommenced its service at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 25. The ferry had been out of operation for a week due to safety concerns raised by the operator.<br><br>The Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Coastal Protection, National Park and Marine Conservation (LKN) announced that an inspection took place on Friday to ensure that the safety concerns were addressed and that the ferry could resume operations.<br><br>The operator had previously reported issues with a mooring hook that prevented the ferry from securely docking. According to LKN, adjustments were made to the hook to ensure its safer functionality. The decision to allow the ferry to resume service was made on Friday afternoon in conjunction with the crew.<br><br>This latest interruption is part of a series of issues that have affected the new electric ferry since its launch in April. The ferry has experienced several disruptions, including prior technical malfunctions, causing inconvenience to local commuters.
