The ferry 'Missunde III' is scheduled for further test runs on Friday afternoon, according to the Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Coastal Protection, National Park, and Marine Conservation (LKN). The ferry, which crosses the Schlei river between Brodersby and Kosel, has been out of operation for a week.

The previous operational halt was due to safety concerns raised by the operator regarding the mooring maneuver. Specifically, a hook was reportedly causing problems when securing the ferry to the shore. The LKN stated that adjustments have been made to improve the safety and function of this hook.

On Friday, these modifications will be tested. LKN representatives and the operator will jointly assess whether the concerns have been resolved and if the ferry service can resume. The 'Missunde III' has experienced multiple interruptions since its launch in April.

The prolonged disruption to ferry service has caused significant inconvenience for commuters and residents needing to cross the Schlei. Efforts have been made to provide alternative transport solutions during this period.
