Fiberscope Redesigns TROGLOTREK Cable Drum for Field Portability
FIBERSCOPE has updated its TROGLOTREK sewer crawler cable drum with a new frame designed for enhanced portability. The redesigned unit supports up to 300 meters of cable and eases transportation of inspection equipment.
FIBERSCOPE has introduced a redesigned cable drum frame for its TROGLOTREK portable sewer crawler, addressing a common challenge of bulky support equipment for long-range inspections.
The new tubular steel frame design aims to simplify the movement of the TROGLOTREK system. It can accommodate up to 300 meters (984 feet) of 4.0-mm Kevlar-reinforced inspection cable, and is available in both manual and motorized retrieval versions. This update comes as municipalities and utilities face increasing pressure to document underground infrastructure.
The frame integrates the TROGLOTREK control unit, featuring a 5.6-inch high-brightness LCD, an IP67-rated metal housing for the monitor and keyboard, and onboard controls for steering, drive, and text generation. The unit supports video and image recording to an SD card and offers optional Wi-Fi connectivity, along with WinCan-compatible workflow support.
Powering the system is an integrated lithium-ion battery rated at over 96 watt-hours, allowing for extended operation without external power sources. The reinforced cable provides a minimum breaking strength of 2.5 kN, making it suitable for lengthy sewer, stormwater, and industrial pipe inspections.
