Held in Cologne from April 11-14, the FIBO trade show showcased the strength of the fitness industry and its role in promoting societal health. The event attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and 129,668 visitors from 114 countries.

Recent data confirms the industry's expansion. In Germany, fitness and health centers reported 11.3 million members, with a total turnover reaching EUR 5.44 billion. Across Europe, membership stands at 67.7 million and turnover at EUR 31.85 billion. Industry experts are optimistic about achieving EuropeActive's goal of 100 million members by 2030.

Several trends were prominent at the trade show. Strength training is gaining increasing attention within the health sector. Artificial intelligence (AI) is also a clear future direction, being integrated into training equipment, program design, and automated assessments. This enables more personalized offers, individual workout plans, and tailored nutritional advice.

Furthermore, corporate health management (CHM) is emerging as a new market, with companies seeking solutions to enhance employee well-being. A trend towards longevity is also evident, as individuals increasingly invest in health and a high quality of life.
