FIBO 2025 Achieves New Visitor and Exhibitor Records
FIBO 2025 in Cologne attracted 154,748 visitors from 129 countries and over 1,200 exhibitors, surpassing previous attendance records. The German fitness and health sector reported a turnover of EUR 5.82 billion.
The FIBO 2025 trade fair in Cologne set new records for visitor numbers and exhibitors during its 40th anniversary. The event hosted over 1,200 exhibitors and partners, attracting 154,748 visitors from 129 countries. Organizers RX Deutschland described FIBO as an indispensable business platform that impressively visualizes the enormous dynamism and innovative power of the health and fitness industry.
The health and fitness sector in Germany generated a turnover of EUR 5.82 billion, with 11.71 million gym members. Across Europe, membership reached 71.6 million, with a market volume of EUR 36 billion. This highlights the industry's significance as an economic factor and a key contributor to public health.
"Public health awareness is growing, and people have understood that fitness promotes health," commented Professor Dr. Thomas Wessinghage, Chairman of DSSV. For younger generations, fitness is already an integral part of life.
FIBO also served as a platform for policymakers to discuss future industry topics. Antoaneta Angelova-Krasteva from the European Commission emphasized the increasing importance of sports and fitness within the EU for health, economic competitiveness, job creation, and fostering digital innovation.
The trade fair reflected the industry's growth through larger exhibition areas, international brands, and an expanded offering. Digital solutions and artificial intelligence are notably revolutionizing offerings, driving personalization, efficiency, and innovation within the health and fitness sectors.
