FIBO discusses shoulder pain and 'return-to-sport' decisions
The FIBO trade fair will host a session on April 16, 2026, focusing on evidence-based decisions for managing shoulder pain and facilitating athlete return to sport.

The FIBO trade fair is set to host a specialized session on April 16, 2026, dedicated to addressing the complexities of shoulder pain and guiding decisions around an athlete's return to sport.
The event, located within the Forum Therapy & Training area (Hall 8 C46) from 12:15 to 13:00, aims to provide professionals with evidence-based strategies for managing painful shoulder conditions. The discussion will cover evaluating when an athlete can continue training, when modifications are necessary, and when rest is the appropriate course of action.
Speakers for the session include Bianca Werdelmann, a physiotherapist, lecturer, and doctoral candidate at the German Sport University Cologne, with expertise in sports physiotherapy and injuries. Richard Freytag, a doctoral candidate and researcher at the University Hospital Bonn, will also present, focusing on shoulder health and biometrics in relation to scapular dyskinesis.
This session is part of the broader FIBO program, which serves as a platform for professionals in the fitness, health, and wellness industries. The focus on shoulder rehabilitation and safe return-to-sport protocols addresses a common challenge for athletes across various disciplines.
The event provides an opportunity for practitioners to enhance their understanding of current therapeutic approaches and share insights on athlete recovery and performance.
