Fibocom, a module manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, has introduced its RU311 series of 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) modules. The RU311 series is targeted at applications such as industrial gateways, security and surveillance systems, aftermarket automotive solutions, energy sector devices, and MiFi devices. 5G RedCap technology is designed to offer improved performance over 4G LTE while consuming less power and incurring lower costs than full 5G modules.
