Field Medical's cardiac ablation technology shows durability in study

Twelve-month outcomes from a prospective clinical trial involving Field Medical's FieldForce™ system have been published. The study assessed the efficacy of Field Medical's pulsed field ablation (PFA) technology for treating atrial fibrillation.

The data revealed that 94.2% of pulmonary vein isolations were maintained at the 12-month mark. This suggests the technology's potential for providing a durable treatment outcome for patients experiencing atrial fibrillation. Maintaining pulmonary vein isolation is a key factor for successful ablation treatment.

The study, named PULSE, was presented at the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) annual meeting. It represents the first human trial to evaluate Field Medical's pulsed field ablation technique utilizing an optimized waveform. The findings support Field Medical's approach to "instant ablation" for atrial fibrillation.

Field Medical's PFA system operates by delivering high-voltage pulsed fields to selectively ablate cardiac tissue with minimal collateral heat generation. This mechanism is intended to reduce the risk of complications associated with traditional thermal ablation methods.
