FIFA Sells 2026 World Cup Final Pitch Pieces for Hundreds of Dollars
FIFA is now selling pieces of the pitch from the 2026 World Cup final, with prices starting at $450. The high cost of the collectible items has drawn criticism.

FIFA has begun selling pieces of the pitch from the upcoming 2026 World Cup final, offering fans the chance to own a physical memento from the match. These small sections of turf, encased in acrylic resin and embedded with game details, are priced starting at $450 each through FIFA's online store.
The "Piece of the Final Pitch" collection is offered in four tiers. The base "Foundation Edition" costs $450 and includes a small turf piece in a 2.5-inch acrylic cube, along with a USB drive containing an authenticity film. Higher-priced editions, such as the $900 "Stadium Edition" and $1,200 "Legacy Edition," offer additional items like a metal souvenir ticket and a signed certificate of authenticity.
The "Hero Edition" is the most expensive at $3,000, featuring a larger turf piece and a crystal World Cup trophy. Limited to 2,026 units of each edition, the organization stands to generate over $11.2 million in revenue if all items are sold.
The pricing of these collectibles has faced backlash on social media, echoing concerns over the higher-than-usual costs associated with the 2026 World Cup. Ticket prices for the tournament have already drawn scrutiny, leading to investigations by attorneys general in several U.S. states regarding the pricing practices.
