Finago Acquires Iceland's Regla, Expands Nordic Reach
Business software provider Finago has agreed to acquire Regla, an Icelandic company specializing in cloud-based accounting, payroll, and invoicing software. The deal marks Finago's entry into Iceland and strengthens its Nordic presence.
Finago, a provider of business software solutions, announced on October 15, 2026, that it has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Regla. Regla is an Icelandic company offering cloud-based accounting, payroll, and invoicing software. The acquisition signifies Finago's expansion into the Icelandic market and bolsters its position as a significant player in the Nordic region.
"Geographical expansion is an important pillar of our growth strategy, and this is an essential step on that journey," stated Lars Engbork, Group CEO of Finago. He added that Regla's modern cloud platform, well-regarded by Icelandic businesses and accounting firms, makes it an attractive addition to Finago's portfolio.
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Reykjavík, Regla provides cloud software covering the accounting and operational needs of small businesses and accounting offices. Through this acquisition, Regla gains access to Finago's extensive experience with Nordic accounting firms, while continuing to serve its existing client base with its established local expertise.
Regla will continue its daily operations, personnel, and customer relationships unchanged following the acquisition. It will operate independently within the Finago Group under its current management. The companies plan to collaborate on developing enhanced commercial offerings and customer value initiatives over time.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in November.
