Finago Procountor Implements Two-Factor Authentication as Standard

Finago has established two-factor authentication as an integral part of its Procountor accounting software, stating that passwords alone are insufficient protection against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The Association of Finnish Accounting Firms recently highlighted incidents where stolen passwords were used to access financial management systems and authorize payments. Finago emphasizes that robust cybersecurity is now a critical component of business continuity.

"Two-factor authentication has been widely used in Finago's products for a long time. However, technical measures alone are not enough. Comprehensive protection is achieved when every user understands the risks and the right ways to act. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility, both for software providers and users," said Sakari Jorma, Chief Technology & Product Officer at Finago.

Two-factor authentication requires an additional verification step, such as a phone confirmation, beyond just a password. This measure significantly hinders unauthorized access, protecting both customer data and company operations.

Finago stated it continues to invest in solutions that enhance the security of data managed through its software.
