Finanz Informatik Enhances AI Platform with NVIDIA Technology

Finanz Informatik (FI), the digitization partner for the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe banking network, is continuing to expand and develop its artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in partnership with NVIDIA. The primary goal is to significantly enhance the performance and scalability of its AI platform. This platform utilizes open-source AI models and operates exclusively within FI's own highly secure data centers, maintaining complete control and sovereignty over data.

This strategic approach forms the basis for developing and deploying innovative, AI-driven solutions designed to benefit the approximately 200,000 employees and over 50 million customers of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. A key application is the AI assistant S-KI Pilot, which is already in widespread productive use, assisting employees with routine tasks. Its functionality is integrated with the central banking platform, requiring secure access to data and processes.

FI operates a 100% on-premise AI platform within its certified and highly available data centers. This ensures that control over data, applications, and processes remains entirely with the company. NVIDIA's technology enables FI to run flexible, scalable, and innovative AI applications while simultaneously ensuring data protection, compliance, and digital sovereignty. The collaboration also involves knowledge sharing with NVIDIA on how European companies can shape their AI future with innovative solutions and data sovereignty.

Finanz Informatik emphasizes its commitment to digital sovereignty as a guiding principle for its IT and AI strategy. This aligns with European values such as data protection and responsibility, offering a future-proof solution tailored to the regulatory requirements of the financial sector. "IT sovereignty is a prerequisite for new technologies to be operated in a controlled manner and continuously developed," stated Andreas Schelling, Chairman of the Management Board of Finanz Informatik.
