Finnair implements world's first 'Native Order' system
Finnish airline Finnair has become the first globally to go live with a 'Native Order' system, powered by Amadeus technology. This system allows for the management of customer orders within a single record.

Helsinki – Finnair, a leading Nordic airline, has launched the world's first 'Native Order' system, utilizing technology from Amadeus. This move represents a significant step towards modern retailing capabilities and enhanced customer relevance within the airline industry.
The first native order was created on May 5 by Finnair CEO Turkka Kuusisto on the airline's website, for a flight from Helsinki to London Heathrow. The Native Order model aligns with IATA's One Order directives, consolidating passenger booking and related information into a single, integrated record. This transition shifts away from traditional methods like Passenger Name Records (PNRs).
By adopting the 'Offers and Orders' model, Finnair aims to streamline its operations and improve the customer journey. The new system integrates all necessary details, including flight information, services, and personal preferences, into one cohesive customer record. The company expects this to simplify processes and facilitate better communication with its partners.
Amadeus, a prominent travel technology provider, partnered with Finnair to implement its Amadeus Nevio solution. This collaboration underscores Amadeus' commitment to delivering advanced retailing technology and supporting airlines in their digital transformation. The enhanced system is anticipated to enable more personalized customer experiences and provide Finnair with greater agility and security in its business operations.
