Finnair Reports Strong Passenger Growth in September
Finnair carried 1.11 million passengers in September 2026, a 9.6% increase year-over-year. The airline also saw growth in its cargo operations.

Helsinki – Finnair reported a significant increase in passenger numbers for September 2026. The airline carried 1,112,200 passengers, marking a 9.6% rise compared to September 2025.
Capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), grew by 6.8% overall. Notable increases in capacity were observed in North Atlantic, European, and Asian traffic. Passenger numbers declined only in domestic operations.
Flights to the Middle East were suspended on February 28, 2026, due to the heightened safety situation in the region. This suspension impacted capacity on certain routes.
In addition to passenger traffic, Finnair's cargo operations also experienced growth during September. Specific figures for cargo were not detailed in the company's press release.
