Finnfund grows, expands office, adapts culture as Noah Law departs

Development financier Finnfund has undergone significant changes in the past five years, impacting both the company's growth and its work culture. Noah Law, who joined Finnfund in Helsinki in 2018 as an Investment Analyst, has closely observed the company's development into an organization with over 100 employees. During this period, Finnfund also opened its first foreign office in Nairobi, Kenya.

Law, now moving into an Investment Manager role, has also progressed in his career, completing a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Oxford during a study leave granted by Finnfund. He describes Finnfund as a formerly smaller organization where Finnish was the working language. He personally wished to integrate and learn Finnish, and found the staff welcoming.

Work at Finnfund has also transformed with the advent of remote work during the pandemic. Law notes that while collaboration was affected during the remote working period, the company's social and enjoyable atmosphere has gradually returned. He emphasizes that the company's strength lies in its people: intelligent, vibrant, and globally interested individuals.

Noah Law will continue his career in development finance, moving to a new role focused on active portfolio management. He will keep Finnfund on his radar, particularly concerning investments in the forestry industry, which he has developed during his tenure. Law also considers Helsinki his permanent home.
