Finnfund invests in Fuzu to improve job matching in Kenya

Finnish development financier Finnfund has invested in the Kenyan job matching platform Fuzu. The company aims to ease the job search process and improve employment prospects in Kenya, a market marked by high competition and corruption.

Fuzu connects job seekers with employers and provides tools for career advancement, including profile enhancement and training resources. Accessible via computer or mobile, the platform seeks to deliver job listings and recruitment services more efficiently than traditional networking.

In Kenya, millions of young, educated job seekers face fierce competition and widespread corruption. Fuzu's managing director, Jussi Hinkkanen, estimates that 15 million people in Kenya work in informal sectors or are partially or fully unemployed.

The service is free for job seekers, with revenue generated from employers. Fuzu previously received support from the Finnpartnership program during its initial phases. Finnfund's investment supports Fuzu's growth and its efforts to expand operations and improve the employment landscape in one of Africa's largest labor markets.
