Fintech Firm Navi Secures $100 Million From Prosus in First Institutional Funding Round

Indian fintech firm Navi has raised $100 million (over ₹955 Cr) from global venture capital firm Prosus, in what marks the startup's first institutional funding round. The investment is subject to regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India.

Navi has not disclosed the valuation at which Prosus is investing or the stake the firm will acquire. The capital is expected to fuel the company's growth as it prepares for a public offering.

Ashutosh Sharma, head of Prosus India investments, cited Navi's large user base, multiple business lines, and technology-first approach as key factors for the investment. "We believe the team has executed extremely well in the last 12 months despite a tough macro environment," Sharma stated.

Founded in 2018 by Sachin Bansal and Ankit Agarwal, Navi offers a suite of financial products including lending, insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments. The company's lending arm, Navi Finserv, reported assets under management crossing ₹13,000 Cr in the last fiscal year. Navi also announced achieving consolidated profitability in the fourth quarter of FY26.

The funding comes as Navi reportedly seeks to revive its plans for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Sources suggest the company may refile its draft IPO papers soon, aiming for a fresh issue of around ₹3,000 Cr. This would be Navi's second attempt at a public listing, after shelving a previous plan in 2022 due to market conditions.
