Technology company Fireflies.ai has launched a new dictation feature for its desktop applications on Windows and Mac. The feature, named Fireflies Talk, allows users to dictate text into any application on their computers.
The new functionality aims to leverage the fact that people speak approximately three times faster than they type. With this dictation capability, Fireflies.ai is expanding its services beyond meeting notes to encompass other daily work tasks, such as writing emails, messaging, and creating documents.
Users can activate dictation by pressing the Fn key on Mac or the Ctrl + Win key combination on Windows. Fireflies.ai will record the voice and transcribe it directly into the open text field. The company is not charging extra for this new feature.
Previously, Fireflies.ai focused on AI-powered automation for meeting notes. By expanding into dictation, the company aims to offer a more comprehensive AI assistant for users' daily work.
