Firefox browser fixes shortcut trust issue on Windows
Mozilla has released Firefox version 153.0.3, addressing an issue where browser shortcuts on Windows 10 and Windows 11 were being marked as untrusted.
Mozilla released version 153.0.3 of its Firefox browser on August 4. The primary focus of this update is to resolve a problem where shortcuts to the browser on Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems were being flagged as untrusted. This resulted in a security warning appearing each time the shortcut was launched.
The update also includes enhancements to "smart windows," which will display more content in recommendation lists to help users access their history and switch between open tabs. Additionally, these smart windows can now use Exa's web search results directly to answer queries without needing to forward the issue to a search engine.
Other reported fixes include addressing issues with audio and video playback on websites loading media from Blob URLs. The update also resolves problems with opening the sidebar when it is hidden and the password manager is disabled due to enterprise policies. Further fixes address frequent crashes in the inspector within developer tools and a rare issue that could lead to a corrupted installation after partial updates on Windows.
