Fireside Ventures Co-founder Vinay Singh Departs Firm

Vinay Singh, a co-founder and partner at Fireside Ventures, is leaving the venture capital firm after a tenure spanning nearly a decade. The firm has not yet announced a successor for Singh, who helped establish the company in 2017 alongside partners Kanwaljit Singh, Kannan Sitaram, and Dipanjan Basu.

Singh stated that his departure is motivated by a desire to explore the future of agentic commerce and the impact of artificial intelligence on consumption patterns. Prior to his work at the VC firm, Singh held roles at Hindustan Unilever and Bankbazaar and co-founded the car-servicing platform Stepni.

Fireside Ventures currently oversees assets totaling over $650 million across four funds, with a portfolio of more than 65 startups. Its most recent fund closed at $253 million in December 2023. The firm maintains a team of 12 principals and vice presidents to manage its ongoing operations.

This leadership change aligns with a broader industry trend in India, where seasoned fund managers are increasingly leaving established venture firms to launch independent investment vehicles. Recent examples include executive departures from Peak XV Partners and L Catterton to form new entities such as Mettle Capital and Asthrum Capital.
