Chery iCAR, a division of Chinese automaker Chery, announced on Monday, July 22, that the first iCAR V23 vehicle has completed production in Malaysia. The new model is slated to reach dealerships by the end of July.

The Chery facility in Malaysia, which began construction in February 2025, spans approximately 81 hectares. Its initial production capacity is set at 100,000 vehicles per year, with plans to expand to 300,000 vehicles in the future. Additional land is allocated for parts suppliers and the development of training and research centers.

In the domestic Chinese market, the iCAR V23 rear-wheel-drive version boasts a maximum power of 185kW, while the all-wheel-drive variant offers 335kW. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.5 seconds. The vehicle is available with range options of 401km, 501km, and 550km, with prices ranging from 122,800 to 154,800 yuan.

Previously, other Chinese-brand vehicles, including the Xpeng G6, Leapmotor C10 and B10, and Wuling Bingo, have also completed production in Malaysia.
