Fistula Foundation Launches Treatment Network in Uganda

Fistula Foundation has launched the Fistula Foundation Treatment Network (FFTN) in Uganda, aiming to increase access to life-changing surgeries for women suffering from childbirth injuries. The launch is a collaboration with the Ugandan Ministry of Health and seven local implementing partners.

The FFTN initiative focuses on providing surgical treatment for obstetric fistulas, a severe complication that can result from prolonged or difficult childbirth. The network seeks to reach more women who require this specialized care.

This expansion of treatment capabilities is seen as crucial for addressing the burden of fistula on women's health and well-being in Uganda. The network will enhance the capacity for surgical care and rehabilitation services.

By broadening access to this critical medical intervention, Fistula Foundation intends to improve the quality of life for affected women and contribute to a more comprehensive healthcare system in the country.
