Fitness Connection to Build New Facility at Houston's CityNorth Industrial Park

HOUSTON – Texas-based fitness chain Fitness Connection has announced plans for a new 45,000-square-foot facility as part of the CityNorth industrial park redevelopment, transforming the former Greenspoint Mall site. The company has been a fixture in the Greenspoint community for over two decades.
Fitness Connection intends to remain open at its current location within the mall throughout the construction period. It is currently the sole remaining business in the mall. The new facility's construction is estimated to cost $15 million.
The upcoming gym will feature state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment, along with premium recovery amenities such as cold and compression therapy. Demolition of the existing mall is scheduled to commence in October 2026. The broader CityNorth redevelopment project is expected to create approximately 300 construction jobs and accommodate 1,200 full-time positions upon completion.
This move follows Fitness Connection's recent $12 million investment in upgrading clubs across the Dallas and Houston markets. The company aims to provide high-quality fitness environments at an accessible price point.
