Five35 Ventures, an Africa-focused investment vehicle applying a gender lens, has completed its first portfolio exit. The investment in Ghanaian agri-tech company Complete Farmer generated a 3.5x multiple on invested capital.

The firm invested in Complete Farmer, which connects farmers to markets while providing access to agricultural inputs and technical support, in April 2022. The exit was realized in March 2026.

Five35 Ventures' strategy focuses on businesses where commercial growth and inclusive impact reinforce each other. The company emphasizes that its gender lens approach extends beyond ownership and leadership to consider how women participate in and benefit from the businesses it backs.

"Complete Farmer shows how technology can strengthen African food systems, improve farmers’ access to markets, and create meaningful economic opportunities for women," said Hema Vallabh, general partner at Five35 Ventures. She added that this first exit is an important validation of their investment strategy, demonstrating that gender-lens investing is a disciplined way to identify overlooked markets and stronger business models.
