Fiverr Reports Brands Seeking Search Skill Lacking in Most Marketers

Fiverr, a freelance marketplace, has reported a notable shift in market demand, with brands increasingly seeking expertise in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) while traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) sees a decline.

The data reveals that 67 percent of SEO specialists have experienced a substantial rise in GEO-related requests over the past year. This trend is particularly pronounced as businesses prepare for peak shopping seasons like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, necessitating optimization for AI-driven search results.

The growing reliance on AI tools for consumer research has propelled GEO to the forefront. Companies are investing more in AI-enabled search strategies to ensure visibility. This emerging field presents a considerable business opportunity for marketers and entrepreneurs who can offer specialized GEO services in an undersaturated market.

Shiri Hellmann, VP of Global Brand Communications at Fiverr, commented on the trend, stating, "AI alone isn’t enough for any retailer to succeed this holiday season, it takes outside expertise to actually make it work." She added that successful brands are combining AI recommendations with creator insights to build trust and enhance their market position.
