Fizyr and AWL Expand Partnership on Advanced Automation Solutions

AI vision software company Fizyr has announced an expanded partnership with systems integrator AWL. The collaboration aims to co-develop advanced automation solutions for deployment in Europe and North America.

Fizyr, which provides AI-driven vision capabilities for robotic systems, has been working with AWL for over three years. Together, they have enhanced robotic systems' ability to handle variability in items, materials, and lighting conditions, according to Fizyr CEO Ken Fleming.

The market for robotic picking is projected for significant growth, expected to reach $6.8 billion by 2030, up from $236 million in 2022. This expansion addresses increasing demand for automation in e-commerce fulfillment and other high-variability tasks, often driven by labor shortages and scalability needs.

AWL, a systems integrator focused on automotive, metalworking, and intra-logistics, incorporates Fizyr's vision AI into solutions like its ROSI robotic singulator and RODE robotic depalletizer. These systems have demonstrated high throughputs, handling 700 to 800 parcels per hour in various customer applications with companies such as DHL and Arvato.
