FläktGroup Breaks Ground on South Korea Production Facility

FläktGroup has broken ground on a new 21,800-square-metre production facility in Gwangju, South Korea, to expand its manufacturing capacity for HVAC and critical cooling systems. Production at the new site is scheduled to begin in early 2028.

The project follows Samsung's acquisition of FläktGroup in 2025 and will become the company’s 15th global manufacturing site. The facility is intended to address increasing regional demand for advanced cooling systems, driven in part by the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure.

The plant will manufacture product lines including Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), Fan Wall Units (FWUs), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), and Air Handling Units (AHUs). These systems are designed for applications in data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, and large commercial buildings where precise temperature control and reliable cooling are essential.

FläktGroup stated the investment will combine Samsung's manufacturing capabilities with its own expertise in ventilation, air treatment, and critical cooling. This positions Gwangju as a strategic production hub serving Korea and East Asia, supporting the company’s strategy to expand manufacturing capacity closer to key customers and infrastructure markets.
