Flexcompute Secures Strategic Investment From Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures
Physics-focused Flexcompute has announced strategic investment from Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures to accelerate its AI development.

Boston, MA – Flexcompute, a company focused on physics-based AI, has announced strategic investment from Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, Inc. The funding is intended to accelerate Flexcompute's development of its "Physics World Model."
The Physics World Model is an AI designed to predict how any given design will perform in the real world by learning the laws of physics, rather than just patterns in data. The goal is for the AI to understand fundamental physical principles, enabling more accurate predictions for applications ranging from semiconductor package warping under heat to spacecraft atmospheric reentry.
Unlike traditional AI that learns from historical data, Flexcompute's approach integrates physics understanding directly into neural networks. The company's team, comprising over 70 PhDs, has developed GPU-native solvers and utilizes "Tokenized Physics" technology. This ensures that the model's predictions adhere to physical conservation laws and remain accurate even for novel designs not previously encountered.
The investment will be used to scale Flexcompute's research team, expand GPU compute capacity, and broaden the Physics World Model to cover areas such as fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, and structural mechanics.
Flexcompute's model is already being deployed as "Physics Twins," allowing customers to digitally test and optimize their products before physical realization. The company states this accelerates the design cycle and reduces costs.
