Flipkart Acquires Minority Stake in Travel Tech Firm TravClan

Walmart-owned Flipkart has acquired a minority stake in Delhi-based travel tech startup TravClan. The deal is intended to strengthen Flipkart's international travel offerings, expand holiday packages offered by its subsidiaries Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel, and enhance on-ground support.

The e-commerce giant aims to leverage the partnership to expand its own curated international leisure offerings by tapping into TravClan’s technology and partner network. The capital infusion will support TravClan’s team expansion in business development, engineering, and destination operations, as well as enable further investments in global supply, technology, and destination expansion.

"Travellers today are looking for more than a flight or hotel booking. They want a holiday that is curated around their interests and supported throughout the journey. TravClan’s supplier network and destination capabilities will help us build that experience across Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel," said Nishant Verman, Flipkart’s SVP, Corporate Development and Partnerships.

Founded in 2018, TravClan assists travel agents in building and growing online businesses. It partners with over 15,000 travel agents to customize and book real-time packages, hotels, and activities. This investment forms part of Flipkart's broader strategy to diversify its business beyond e-commerce.
