Flipkart Eliminates Commission on All Fashion Products

Flipkart, the e-commerce marketplace backed by Walmart, has expanded its zero-commission policy to encompass all fashion products, irrespective of their price. This strategic move aims to bolster the company's fashion seller ecosystem.

The expanded policy applies to all fashion items, a significant extension from the previous threshold of products priced below ₹1,000. An estimated 90,000 transacting sellers, including small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), homegrown brands, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) labels, will no longer incur commission charges on their fashion sales.

Flipkart stated that this initiative is designed to enable sellers to retain higher profit margins, facilitating reinvestment into expanding their product portfolios and brand development. The company also provides sellers with access to AI-powered demand insights, trend analytics, and catalog management tools through its seller dashboard, aiming to improve responsiveness to evolving consumer preferences.

The e-commerce giant anticipates that the broadened policy will enhance product selection across all fashion categories, including the premium segment, while simultaneously offering consumers greater choice and value. This development occurs amidst intensifying competition within India's e-commerce sector.
