Travel company Flix is broadening its partnership with payment provider Klarna, aiming to offer enhanced payment flexibility to millions of travelers. As of July 2026, Klarna's services will be available in 21 new Flix markets across the United States and Europe, adding to existing integrations in the US and Sweden. This expansion seeks to provide travelers with more choices for booking their journeys.

The integration means Klarna will be directly embedded within the Flix booking process. Passengers can choose from several payment methods: paying the full amount at the time of booking, opting for interest-free installment payments, or utilizing longer-term financing options for larger expenses. For international travel, Klarna promises to eliminate foreign exchange fees, allowing passengers to pay in their local currency without hidden conversion costs.

Klarna's Chief Commercial Officer, David Sykes, stated that travel is a significant consumer expense, and payment flexibility has lagged behind other sectors. He believes that by partnering with Flix, they are giving travelers greater freedom and transparency in how they manage their payments, whether for short or long-distance trips.

Alexander Schlüter, VP Marketing & Customer Product at Flix, highlighted the company's commitment to providing affordable and accessible travel. He expressed that the expanded Klarna partnership will offer passengers more control and flexibility, making sustainable travel choices easier for a wider audience. Flix operates as a collective transport provider across numerous countries, focusing on sustainable and cost-effective long-distance bus and train services.
